Festive Eye Makeup That’ll Slay this Season!
Around this time, you guys always ask me for fun party looks for Christmas, New Year’s, and all the celebrations in between – and honestly, I love curating seasonal looks that are wearable all year round. Give me glitter, shimmer, and bold lashes any day of the week!
So, I’ve pulled together some products that I absolutely love and added a few tips on how to really make your eyes pop! These are guaranteed to get you compliments, stay all night, and bring a bit of drama. Let’s sleigh this…
Primers:
When it comes to keeping your makeup on all night long, primers are your best friend. Here are some that I have loved for years:
These. Are. INSANE.
If you want that “people stop mid-conversation to ask what’s on your eyes” kind of sparkle, this is the one. The shimmers, metallics, and pressed glitters are next-level reflective and somehow still blend like butter. I also love that you can separate the palette into three mini palettes – perfect for your makeup bag or party clutch when space is tight.
Tip: Use a fingertip for maximum coverage, a flat brush for precision, or a dampened brush for a more subtle look.
Mascaras:
I recently did an entire blog on my all-time favourite mascaras. All the products, tips and tricks are right here!
Lashes:
You need good lashes when you’re going for that slightly extra party look. Lashes really transform the face. Here are my faves:
Lashify is the place to go for your false eyelashes. They have every style and colour that you could ever need. They go under your lash line so there is no messy gaps. I love these on a shoot as they’re so lightweight. Absolutely perfect for a pro or someone who is a bit nervous to wear lashes. They are surprisingly easy to apply.
Makeup Artist Tips!
1. Use a clean fluffy brush to soften the edges of whatever you’re applying. Even the wildest glitter looks polished with a diffused edge. Blend upwards and outwards for the most flattering lift.
2. Tightline the upper waterline. This is a classic makeup artist trick. Pop a black or dark brown pencil right into the upper waterline (blink onto the pencil, promise it’s easier). This makes your lashes look thicker, your eyes more defined, and your whole look more polished.
3. Layer textures! Matte crease, shimmer lid and glitter centre. This is the cheat code for dimension that looks editorial but takes 2 minutes.
Whether you want subtle shimmer or full glitter-glam, these products will make your eyes look absolutely gorgeous. I’m always hunting for new products, so please let me know your favourites too!
Love,
Lisa xx
